Home of the Trinity Titans

Welcome to Trinity Titans Rugby the home of Junior Rugby at Trinity RFC
Dear families,
We hope you are enjoying a great Summer and are looking forward to joining Trinity Titans again in 2021/22.
After such a frustrating and disrupted season last year we are confident that we will be able to enjoy a full competitive season and we can’t wait to get back started and welcome all of the players back to Lime Meadow Avenue.
With the season just a few weeks away we hope that this letter will provide you with all of the information you require for the season ahead.
At the end of this letter we will take updated information regarding players and Guardians and request that you select the appropriate Subscription and Kit options. After submitting the forms information, you will be directed to payment options.
Season start date
The official first training session of the season will be Sunday 12th September and we will be launching the season with a BBQ for all age groups after training on this date, from 12.00pm. It would be great if players could invite a friend to training on this date as we are always looking to attract more players to our club. New members can enjoy three weeks of taster sessions before signing up.
Home training sessions start promptly at 10.15am and finish at midday every Sunday until the end of April
Pre season training
For those players who are desperate to get back to playing before the 12th September we will be running some pre-season sessions as a way to ease back into rugby before the official start date. These dates will be:
– Sunday 22nd August
– Sunday 29th August
– Sunday 5th September
Training will run from 10.15am – 12.00pm. These sessions will be free of charge and open to all age groups as well as new players.
Age Groups
Trinity Titans will be running the following age group teams this season. With new players arriving we hope to separate the combined age groups into single age groups teams.
U6 & U7 (Year 2) Tag Rugby – David Hayes
U8 (Year 3) – Alan Hayes & Paras Sood
U9 & U10 (Years 4 & 5) Combined age group Contact Rugby – Coach TBC
U11 & U12 (Years 6 & 7) Combined age group Contact Rugby – Jon Lewington, Dan Crouch & Kieran Roche
If any parents are passionate about rugby and are keen to help out with coaching then please contact Jon Lewington or Dan Crouch.
Season format and calendar of events
The full calendar will be published and forwarded to parents ahead of the start of the season but below provides a basic outline of what players and parents can expect each week. http://trinityrfc.com/titans-fixtures-2019-20/
[Note – we know it looks as if the link is to an old fixture page, this is just a temporary internal site naming issue that will be fixed soon. The fixtures are correct for 2021/21.]
All rugby fixtures / training / festivals take place on a Sunday morning and will include….
Home training – these sessions are led by our own team of dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced coaches
Joint training sessions – where we train together alongside another club and then play them in friendly fixtures.
This will involve sessions hosted by us as well as us travelling away to the other club for the session.
Rugby Festivals – Most competitive rugby at the younger age groups is generally organised as festivals with local clubs/teams playing round robin competitive games, rather than having individual weekly fixtures. There will be a number of festivals that we will enter throughout the season.
Rugby Tour – We are very pleased to announce that Trinity Titans will be resuming the annual club tour at the back end of the season in April/May, exact details to be confirmed. This has been a highlight of the year for both players and parents and we would encourage as many club members as possible to sign up.
We aim to publish the calendar in advance of the season so that families are given lots of notice about what the plan for each week is. The calendar may well be updated throughout the season but we will give parents lots of notice of events so that they can plan ahead.
Our playing / coaching philosophy
Trinity Titans fully support the RFU’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship recognising that good people make great players. Training sessions are focussed on developing skill, decision making and creativity, maximising touches of the ball and teaching through games.
Coaches have a player centred approach where development of the players both individually and collectively takes priority.
We hope to install in our players a lifelong love of and involvement in rugby through their playing experience at Trinity Titans.

Our subscriptions remain extremely competitive and we believe offer great value for money.

Club Shop
Trinity Titans Teamwear made by VX3 can be purchased from the online club shop – https://www.vx-3.com/trinity-rfc/
A variety of items can be purchased including tracksuit bottoms, mid layers, jackets, shorts and hats.
Playing Kit
Trinity Titans rugby shirts are required by all players and can be purchased at the club rather than through the club shop website. These are bespoke items and the club will hold a stock of shirts for parents to buy. This year these are priced at £27.50. Please speak to the coach of your age group or find Jon Lewington or Dan Crouch to make your purchase.
If your son / daughter has grown out of their shirt or other kit then please let us know as we can organise 2nd hand sales of such items.
This year we are including Trinity Titans RFC Rugby Shorts and Socks as part of the annual subscription.
Other Kit Requirements for Players
Players must wear studded boots for training – whilst both rugby and football boots are available in shops either are perfectly suitable to play rugby in. Trainers can be worn in the early season when the ground is hard if you prefer.
Gumshields – for those age groups which are playing contact rugby (U9 upwards) players must be wearing a gumshield in training and matches. Mouldable gumshields can be bought from your local sports shop. This year we will also be inviting OPRO to the club to fit custom made gumshields for players who wish to purchase them. These provide added comfort and better protection.
During the colder months we recommend that players wear thermal base layers under their playing kit and hats as well as the club rain jacket. For new players this jacket will come as your free item of clothing as part of your subscription (please select this instead of the shorts and sock option).
Can we please ask parents to label your child’s jacket clearly. In fact please clearly label all items of kit and water bottles.
Safeguarding
Trinity RFC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the sport and the club fully adopts England Rugby’s Safeguarding Children Policy. All coaches have up to date DBS checks and are fully aware of their responsibilities around player welfare and safety both on and off the field. Parents / guardians are asked to fully complete and sign the required consents within the attached membership form
Should you have any queries or concerns about any welfare issues then please contact the club Welfare Officer – Phil Mamode (also Head of Youth Rugby/ youth@trinityrfc.com )
Photo Consent
Trinity RFC recognises the need to ensure the welfare and safety of all Young People in Rugby. As part of this commitment, we will not permit photographs, video images or other images of Young People to be taken or used without the consent of the parent / guardian of a young player. Please make sure you provide us with your photo consent or otherwise on the membership form attached.
Trinity RFC will take steps to ensure that these images are used solely for the purpose they are intended, which is the promotion and celebration of the Club’s rugby activities and possibly as a coaching aid (video). If you become aware that these images are being used inappropriately you should inform the Club immediately.
If photographs, e.g. team or action shots, are submitted to the Press or published on the Club website, individuals will not be identified. In circumstances where there is a need to identify an individual player in the Press parental permission will be sought beforehand.
Please note: Trinity RFC understands that there are circumstances under which a parent would not wish their child to be photographed. Whilst Trinity RFC will do all that it can to ensure the safety of children during games, it is the responsibility of the parent / guardian concerned to ensure that, if necessary, their child is not videoed or photographed. Trinity RFC is unable to supervise individual children during rugby activities or competitions.
